Students & Young Adults

Welcome

Emmanuel is enriched by having students and those in and around their twenties at the heart of our church family. This age is a great time to explore faith and grow in God and we believe that this is best done within a church family. If you are a student or young adult in Oxford, or preparing to move here, we’d love to hear from you!

Student Night

Student Night takes place every Thursday during term time, from 7.30pm at the Emmanuel offices (1-4 The Plain, OX4 1AS). A typical Student Night involves time catching up with one another, diving into the Bible and prayer. We love spending time together and regular socials provide opportunities to deepen relationships with others and to invite friends along.

Student Nights are a great opportunity to ask questions and to grow in relationship with Jesus - whether you’ve been in church for years or are just starting to explore faith, you would be so welcome to join us.

“I love being part of Emmanuel’s student group because it’s a community where we laugh together while walking alongside one another, pursuing deeper relationship with the Lord.”

Naomi

Young Adults

We encourage our young adults to join Emmanuel’s midweek Connect Groups. Connect Groups are at the heart of community at Emmanuel and allow those in their twenties to form friendships with and benefit from the support of those at different stages of life across our church family.

We also really value spending time together as young adults and regularly gather for socials as a group, as well as with the wider student community, throughout the year. There’s always loads on for our young adults to get involved with.

Weekend Away

Each January we begin the new year by spending a weekend away as Students & Young Adults. As well as enjoying teaching and worship, we have a lot of fun together!

Church Family

Our Students & Young Adults are involved across all areas of church life from worship, to kids work, to hospitality and more. Our hope is that termly Student & Families Lunches and our church-wide mentoring programme means that our students and twenties are firmly embedded within the church family during their time at Emmanuel.

You can stay up-to-date with all things Students & Young Adults by following us on Instagram or by emailing students@emmanueloxford.org.

We look forward to meeting you soon!

“What I love most about being at Emmanuel is the Christian friendships I’ve been able to build. It’s been great to connect with people from all kinds of backgrounds going through the same experiences as me. Having God at the centre of those friendships makes them even more meaningful and special.”
