STUDENTS (OXYGEN)
Oxygen is the name given to the student work at Emmanuel.
Goal: ‘Equipping students to live radically for Jesus...’
Why?
We love and value students and believe you have a massive part to play in the mission God has given us. We want to help you discover and develop your gifts and release you into opportunities to use them to build God’s kingdom and his Church. We long to serve you by helping you catch the vision of Gods plan for the world. We aim to equip you to effectively share Jesus with your friends and together have an impact on Oxford’s universities.
Before us is a huge mission, Jesus said ‘go and make disciples of all nations.’ Our desire is that the city, the workplaces and the universities will be changed through a united witness. We each have a part to play… come and play yours!
We seek to do this through:
- Weekly Sunday evening Oxygen meetings
- Discipleship
- Weekend away
- Mission trips
- Mobilise

Why: University is a key time in people’s lives. It is a great opportunity for you to grow in your relationship with God and into the plans he has for you. We believe that through Oxygen you will be trained and equipped to live out God’s purposes for your life both here in Oxford and beyond.

Weekend away
Ever wondered what God's vision for his world is or what your part is in his purposes?
The Oxygen weekend away 2012 is all about catching hold of God's big vision for the world and finding your place in his purposes.
Including:
- Preaching
- Worship
- Ministry
- Food
- Sports
- Bonfire!!!

Overseas mission trips
In August 2011 Dave and Jude lead a trip to Yalova in Turkey. The trip was organised by Mobilise worldwide. The team spent time with a local church, serving alongside believers from the church in a variety of different ways.
"The trip was an incredible experience that enabled me to gain a much deeper understanding of what it is like to plant a church in a prodominately Muslim setting. Hearing testimonies from the believers in the church and the path the church has walked to get to it's current stage was very moving and faith stirring. I learnt a lot from stepping out to pray for people on the streets of the city. The church were so kind and generous to us in so many ways. I really hope to be able to go back in the near future."
Oxygen hopes to run more mission trips in the next few years...so watch this space!
Mobilise
God is raising up a generation of men and women passionate about the gospel. He is looking for people of influence who will take the message of His kingdom into campuses and workplaces right across this world
Now in its ninth year, Mobilise is an annual event gathering over 1600 students and twenties to encounter God and be equipped for the mission ahead.
As well as providing great teaching and worship, Mobilise offers the unique opportunity to stand alongside thousands of church leaders at the Together on a Mission conference.
Mobilise is unashamedly about helping you to see the bigger picture and equipping you for leadership in order to advance the gospel.
