Emmanuel Church Oxford is a Newfrontiers Church which was planted in 2005 by David and Margaret Coak. David had already planted and established churches in Haywards Heath (Mid Sussex) and Cambridge. It was during a phone call with an apostolic leader in Newfrontiers that the possibility of planting into Oxford first arose. And having sensed the call of God David and Margaret moved from Cambridge, with a small group of committed friends.
Right from the start a committed core group gathered and before long David and Margaret had invited Nick and Tanya Chatrath to consider relocating from Norwich to join the team, which they quickly felt was right and did. And later, during 2007, Matt and Wendy Partridge believed God was also calling them to move to Oxford and become part of this exciting venture. This sense of call became reality as they finally moved into their new home in July of 2008.
Today the church, although still young, sees more than 100 people regularly attend each Sunday and continues to grow towards our goal of 500 committed members.
